Is it inappropriate to use the phrase “tough titty” in a company email?

I work for a nonprofit charity where the marketing director sent out a mass email regarding a decrease in ad responses, saying “tough *****.” I thought his email was inappropriate, but I didn’t say anything.

however hilarious it is, it is still inappropriate.

    Yup, thats pretty dumb.

A couple complaints from female workers to the HR department and you won’t have a Marketing Director anymore.

Nonprofits always need good people, but of all kinds of businesses they can least afford a lawsiut. They just don’t have the funds to defend something like that.

He’s either very stupid, or has one hell of a lot of guts….I can almost hear the roar of the charging feminists from here.

anything that places male or female *** organs in any context is out of bounds for any politically correct envinronment

Extremely unprofessional, and possible grounds for a hostile work environment lawsuit.

Its inappropriate, especially when going to vendors and partners, shows you how allot of directors don’t really have the skills to be where they are.

Sounds like another director who was promoted because he knows someone, or his boss doesn’t want something to be exposed if he didn’t get promoted.

Extremely inappropriate for a professional setting.

I have a boss that also uses terrible judgement and he doesn’t really have much respect for the written words in email. As a result staff do not respect him and we have a high staff turnover. We are a cultural exchange company. I’m not a raging feminist at all, but he used appalling judgement when he said “tough titty”. Just like it would be wrong to stay expressions around any body part! (male or female).

Oh my god, he said *****! That’s, like, so gross and stuff! There could be kids reading that company email! Sue him!

    ha ha, that’s awesome.

    but still inappropriate.

As long as he used the whole saying. Tough ******* said the kitty when the milk ran out. or something like that.

The man is a total GIT….and probably should be fired over this gross offense. Be sure that his bosses see this…and also the board members of the charity…. even if you have to mail them each a separate copy…. do it anonymously, but do it.

Sometimes in the nonprofit world, the management team lack the necessary to fire someone who well deserves it…but you can bet your bippy that the board members are not going to find this in the slightest bit amusing or acceptable…

So, as I said….make sure they each get copy of that little mistake…highlight the offensive area with that yellow highlighter…mail it to their homes so that no secretary tosses it by the wayside..

No need to sign your name…in fact, typewrite the envelopes….put the return address of your office if you want…. if it comes up, pretend you know absolutely nothing about it…act as surprised as everyone else…

Anyone who would do such a dumb, gauche and inappropriate thing is going to make a much bigger and more costly mistake later. This guy isn’t smart enough to handle his job…and remarks like that prove it….
