About the only way I can think of to mass delete is to establish a new email address.

Yes, hold shift on the first email and left click, keep shift held down and left click on last e-mail, they will all highlight, then just click delete.
    All gone

Order the messages however best fits.

    Select the first.

    Press shift.

    Select the last.

    Delete.

    Repeat as needed.

(If you want to keep some in between, use the control key to deselect/select individual messages.)

Select the first email, press Ctrl and A at the same time to select all. Then hit the delete key.
