I will be away and not be able to get to my email or messages for a week or longer because someone i was very close to passed away
instead of calling and explaining the situation to everyone, how should i word an email and message that i can send out to everyone ? thanks

If its a business email like Outlook or Lotus you should be able to have an Away setting. Anybody that emails you will get a reply that you are not in, who to contact in your absence or any info you may want to provide.
