It’s a scam. Yahoo did not send it. A spammer sent it to trick you into giving your password.

No, it is a scam, David, Yahoo would not ask you for your personal information in an E-mail like that.
It is a scam to get your personal information and/or money.
    Do not respond to it.
Report it, forward it to the FTC at and to the abuse desk of the sender’s ISP.
    For yahoo, report them here:…
Choose Fraud as the reason for the violation you’re reporting on.
Also, if the E-mail appears to be impersonating a bank or other company or organization, forward the message to the actual organization.

Since Yahoo is the world’s largest supplier of free email, how in the heck do you think they could send out a “mass mailing” to notify people of a scam? I hope you haven’t answered this junk, because all they want is your account name and password, and they will then take over your account.
If you received an email impersonating Yahoo! and would like to report it please forward the email to:. If you have already been tricked into giving your password, please visit…
and follow the instructions there. Also:…
